My family have been customers of Walgreens since 1996 and were quite satisfied for many years. However, over the past few years we have see a large decline in their service. It is taking longer to get prescriptions filled, wait times to pick up the prescription is often over 20 minutes, and we've had multiple instances where the prescription was filled incorrectly. What pushed us to finally drop Walgreens was a policy that if a prescription is backordered and takes over three days to be delivered, the fill request is dropped from their active system. When this occurs, we were told to call the pharmacy daily to see if the drug is in stock and to have the pharmacy then fill it. This happened twice at our local pharmacy. I talked to the pharmacist at two other Walgreens locations and confirmed that this is corporate policy. Putting the onus on the customer to make sure the prescription is filled is extremely poor customer relations and this policy is not in place for other local pharmacies.
Note that some of the pharmacy staff are amazing. Two techs in particular at this location greet me by name and, time permitting, chat about what is going on in our lives. Kudos to them.
