Last week I called Wine Birds because I wanted to have a couple bottles of very nice wine delivered to a wonderful couple in the area.
I do not know wine, but the person I spoke with seemed very excited that they would love a couple bottles of aged Bordeaux. He mentioned they might be able to deliver that evening, but if not by noon the next day.
I texted my friends and asked if they’d be home in the morning and they said they’d make a point to be there.
That day I received a text from my friends letting me know they didn’t receive anything.
After back and forth texts and a call to Wine Birds, it was explained to me that the wine was being shipped from NYC and through GLS. They still assured me it should be there the following day, so I let my friends know.
I was so embarrassed to get another text that nothing arrived. Then Wine Birds asked me for the tracking number, at which time realized I had when I paid via Pay Pal. I sent the tracking to Wine Birds and the just said thank you with no update.
My friends still don’t have the $100 bottles of wine and I can’t tell them when it will arrive (because someone needs to be there).
My biggest issue is that this process was not explained to me at all! Here I thought they were going to pull bottles from their store and have a local delivery service get it to them. It’s why I called THEM!
