This family run business deserves your patronage! They have maintained a sterling reputation for excellent service since 1951. This week my brother and learned why riders love them.
When Ruth at West Valley could not supply a taller windshield for my 2005 BMW R1200ST, she said it would be OK if I bought one from the manufacturer and had it shipped to West Valley. My brother, who was riding my ST home from Augusta, GA could stop at the shop and pick it up on his way through LA. Ruth said it would be OK for me to ship some foul weather gear there for him to pick up as well.
When my brother got to the shop, Ruth had her son Jay, their mechanic, do a safety inspection on my newly-purchased ST. Jay found and corrected a number of potentially serious safety problems that had been caused by another shop a few hundred miles back when they had replaced the tires. While he was at it, he installed the new windshield. Our cost for all of this? Absolutely nothing! "Just buy us some Diet Coke next time you're here!" was their only request.
These folks deserve as much business as we can send their way! This level of professionalism, combined with generosity, kindness, good humor and the old-time spirit of camaraderie between riders is to be celebrated by all of us on the increasingly rare occasions that we find it, a reminder that motorcycling is as much about the people that we meet as the bikes and roads that we ride.
