In my 3+ years of coming to this Walmart, I have NEVER been more racially profiled in my entire lifetime, than I was today (06/27/24). For starters, there were roughly three cashiers that had lines pouring into the walkway. The only other option was to use self-checkout. Upon using self-checkout, my spouse and I had THREE associates hovering around us, literally standing next to us, while we scanned our items. But what was most disrespectful was the fact that one of the associates literally CANCELED our items and insisted that she checks us out because the POS was “mysteriously” throwing errors. The machines coincidentally were working for those that are non-minorities, however.I’m 100% sure that the associates profiled us because we had larger items, ALL of which had been scanned. They should have known since they were breathing down our necks the entire time. But the bigger question is, why’d the associate cancel our transaction without notice? Is this how minorities are being treated at that location? As if they’re stealing? Pretty sure that I don’t have to steal a single thing, but the treatment that we received today was completely UNACCEPTABLE and will be reported to the corporate office.
