My first stop inside this store was the money center. One employee was working the counter. No one's fault, it was just late and an hour before the money center closed, so standard practice from what I've seen in many other places and certain departments. There were 2 people ahead of me, so it wasn't a long wait, maybe 10 minutes max due to the type of transactions being done.
Now, here is the BEST part, at least in my opinion: The employee working the counter was an employer's dream regarding customer service and store pride. She was fast, precise, friendly (but not to the point where the chatter took away or slowed down the transaction at all) and she promoted the store in a way that wasn't pushy or sarcastic. She made us feel welcomed in that Walmart and the town in general. I wish I could remember her name but I know the date and time of the interaction (3/19/25 at 7:25pm). She deserves acknowledgement from upper management at the very least. She made my day better with her personality and friendly & kind demeanor.
The rest of my time in the store was the usual reason for all grocery store goers. Had to pick up some groceries. This store is clean, stocked, the shelves are the most orderly looking shelves I have seen at any walmart. I was impressed. I have been to many walmarts in many different states here in the U.S., so I have seen quite a number of them, and have even worked in a few, but this one really left a great lasting impression. I'll continue to keep coming back to this one for as long as I live here in Hampton.
