Just went in to purchase some cigarettes. I'm a regular at this Walgreens and I've encountered the cashier, Rhonda, before. She's always a little short - on the verge of rude, even when there doesn't seem to be much going on in the store. Today as I was walking in, she was walking away from the register, apparently to do some stocking. No big deal. I wasn't in a big hurry. I waited at the register. Eventually, another customer came up. The wait wasn't terribly long, maybe a couple of minutes. Then she came back to the register looked at me and in an irritated tone said, "What?!" I asked for the cigarettes I wanted and before I'd quite gotten the brand and variety I wanted out of my mouth, again in a very irritated tone she asked, "Which ones!?" So I repeated the variety. Then she asked for my drivers license (I'm a senior citizen, but I understand it's store policy and I don't mind) which I presented. She scanned it and I put it back in my wallet and then she said, "I need to see it again. It didn't take." So I pulled it back out and gave it to her again. Everybody has bad days, and it looks like Rhonda may have an illness. I can't imagine the pay is great and I know it's hard to find good employees. I'm usually not one to complain, but it seems like she is consistently short or rude. Of course, if it's enough to cause me to write a review, I imagine management is probably already aware they've got a pretty surly employee on their hands.
