Read MoreI had an elderly friend just get out of the hospital around 1pm. I find out at approx 3 pm the pharmacy information I gave them, within the same building as his doctor's office, is a closed pharmacy. Meaning they only fill prescriptions from within or any ER need. Because my friend needed his meds the same day as his release I called and asked the provider from the hospital to send them to a pharmacy on 151st and Pacific Ave... I'm not off work until 8:30 and I could pick them up. ....That's when I find out that pharmacy location closed at 7.... I'm freaking out because I have no idea how I'm going to fill his meds and he needs them. I have to find the same pharmacy that's open near me and hope they have his prescriptions in their system...after calling several Walgreens pharmacies I learned none of them are open. I call the Lakewood location and spoke to the pharmacist on duty they're open for another 45 min, I know already he's probably busy with customers who have been waiting or may need their meds first thing in the morning. He was so nice and I'm all in a panic. He looks in his system and sees the prescriptions my friend needs. There's 6 of them, he's as calm as can be and he's making me feel that my crises is not an issue and he will help me anyway he can.
I feel better already....I gave him 3 of the most important meds out of the 6 needed. He said he can do that and to start my drive to Lakewood. I knew the timing was going to be close however I made it in record time. Everyone of the employees were there to help make my life easier. I could feel the stress start easing it's way off my shoulders. And it was nice to know they're others who care if a stranger breathes easier. The crew that worked January 7th, 2025 at the Lakewood Walgreens Pharmacy on Bridgeport Way, even in the final minutes of their workday, went above and beyond for my friend. I am forever grateful to them. Anyone who gets their meds at this location need to know that they are in good hands and this crew will do whatever they can to help. Thank you so much!
