I recently visited this Walgreens, located at the corner of Washington St. and Middle St., in Weymouth, and I was shocked by the unprofessional behavior of the staff. As I entered the store, I witnessed the cashier and manager loudly arguing with a customer who was showing his driver's license. The scene was so disturbing that I immediately turned around and went back to my car.
As I was leaving, I saw the customer coming out of the store, looking upset. Out of concern, I asked him what had happened. He explained that he was simply trying to return an item. Noticing his demeanor, I inquired if he had a military background, and he shared that he is a retired Army veteran.
As someone from a military family, I was deeply disappointed—and quite frankly, disgusted—by the lack of respect and professionalism from the staff, especially towards someone who has served our country. If the manager was involved, it was her responsibility to de-escalate and defuse the situation. The veteran status of our military members is clearly displayed on their driver’s licenses, which the cashier seemingly ignored.
This experience has left a very negative impression, and I sincerely hope the Corporate Management takes appropriate action to address this issue.
