First: I love that Von’s hires people with disabilities. There is a young man with Downs Syndrome who always bags my groceries perfectly and asks how my day is and offers a big smile. As a high school special education teacher, I so appreciate this. Though, with the war on DEI right now, I hope they don’t change this policy.
There are some products that most grocery stores have, but Von’s does not, like Knorr Hollandaise Sauce mix, but overall a good selection. I appreciate this particular store’s layout; the ready made and bakery and good lunch meats are all in the same area when you first enter. It’s easy to find everything in the aisles, as well; there is good signage. Employees aren’t quite as attentive as Trader Joe’s, but TJ’s is a much smaller store.
I once bought some packaged meat at this Vons and, upon opening, I realized it had gone bad. I took it back and the manager came running over and was very apologetic and helpful. He replaced the item immediately and really seemed upset that anything in his store was sold after it had gone off. I was very happy with the service.
They have a great selection of pre made food, which my 3 kids love when I’m too busy with work to cook on the occasional night.
The store is also very clean and organized.
