To try to make a long story short, I was given a truck that shouldn't have been rented!! A move that should have taken only day time hours ended up all day and night because of being stranded multiple times with a truck that wouldn't start!! When I contacted the office I was told I could be given an extension at no charge, it just had to be back that night because there was a reservation on the same truck at 7 AM the next morning...Mind you I was told the truck didn't pass battery test and shouldn't have been rented! U-haul Roadside assistance was no help, with the minimum wait being 2 hours. My husband ended up contacting a friend who owns a tow company and was able to help us. After all the frustration, we finally finished most of our move and returned the truck. The next morning I check my bank account to find a pending charge of over $200. When I called the store an associate informed me that the manager was not in but was aware of the situation and I could call any time after 9 the following Monday. After attempting to get in touch with the manager on multiple occasions, I was finally able to speak with him. He said he needed to speak with his superiors and he would get it straightened out for me. He also told me I was lied to about the truck not passing battery test. Upon finally calling me back, he boasted about how he got them to agree to only charge me about $50 and change for the rental.. Told me to make sure I leave a 5 star review. I was also told the truck I was given had a faulty starter. I intentionally waited before leaving a review to make sure the charge of over 200 dropped from my account. Sure enough, days later, the charge cleared. Taking multiple phone calls, and multiple days, I was able to finally get in touch with the manager again. I ultimately had to demand a phone call from a superior to get this straightned out. Weeks later, and a ton of frustration, the charges were finally straightened out after speaking with a superior. This was the worst experience with a u-haul company I've ever had. The associate who helped me with the rental initially, was very kind… but my experience with the manager was awful and my experience with this truck was awful. My husband and I ended up having to rent a Van To finally complete our entire move, from a different location of course. This was a move from hell!!!
