I recently visited the Trader Joe’s location in Walnut Creek and had a concerning experience that I believe warrants attention. Upon entering the store, I noticed a small dog, appearing to be a mix of Yorkie, left inside a parked car at the exit. The poor pup was panting heavily and seemed to be struggling in the direct sunlight with all the windows closed.
I approached an employee and expressed my concern, suggesting that they page the dog's owner. Unfortunately, the employee told me that there was nothing she could do and that I should call the police instead. This response felt inadequate, and I believe employees should be trained to assist in situations like this, whether it involves a person or an animal.
Fortunately, the store manager, Arddie, came over to inquire about the situation. I took him outside to show him the dog, who was visibly distressed and having difficulty opening its eyes due to the heat. I was relieved when Arddie immediately took action by using the paging system to call the dog's owner. Thanks to his quick response, the dog was rescued.
I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Arddie for his compassion and promptness in handling this situation. His willingness to help made a significant difference, and I truly appreciate his kindness. Thank you, Arddie, for ensuring that this dog was safe and for demonstrating the importance of caring for all beings, human or animal.
