The Total Wine store in Milford, CT is a Total Disaster.
1. This is like a big-box store, but prices are not competitive.
2. It's very trashy and unclean.
3. The so-called manager doesn't manage anything. Just a pathetic little character with no social skills -- he's rude to everyone, and makes offensive comments against customers in their presence! How stupid is that? Beyond repair. To work with the public, people must be customer oriented, have a positive attitude, courtesy and social skills. Not the case here.
4. Beware of the guy with white hair who tries to sell you garbage wines. He doesn't know anything about anything, including wine -- he just wants to waste your time to make it look like he's doing something. Always doing something close to nothing, but different than the day before. Such people are completely useless.
5. The "selection" actually includes many garbage wines. What's the point of a selection, then? For instance, a red blend called Mimic Blaze. Terrible aftertaste of burnt plastic. Don't waste your money!
6. Not surprisingly, there's a big turnover. Indeed, there's always been a problem with Human Resources and personnel selection in this place, but it's never been worse!
7. The so-called "tastings" are cheap, trashy and useless. They "offer" you a teaspoon of wine in a ridiculously tiny and microscopic plastic glass from the land of Lilliput. But to taste a wine and check the aftertaste, you need at least one ounce in an actual glass, with bread in between wines. Don't assume you're going to experience a real tasting in this cheap and subpar place.
Since we can spend K-s in recreation, we're going to take our business to a better local store where honesty, cleanliness and customer care are included in the price.
