Lilly - Wonderful Paint Department Associate
I stopped into HD this morning to get a few paint supplies. Just as soon as I rounded the corner, I was greeted very quickly and kindly by Lily at the Paint Department service desk. I continued on looking at the paint trying to find the correct base for the 5 gallons I needed for my daughters room makeover. We had such a hard time with locating the color due to HD computer/interface issues. She was so patient and polite! After about 5 minutes of my wife sending me the paint sticker specs, we finally found it. So off through the rest of the store I went looking to retrieve the other items I needed before getting the mixed paint. As I came back, I saw that the paint was from what I was expecting. I looked back at the sticker, and went to the isle with the different types of Glidden and realized somewhere between our conversation, there was a disconnect in which type of interior I wanted (same as before/sticker.) So I asked her a few questions and showed her the sticker again. We both came to the conclusion that we weren't sure who's fault it was. She very quickly suggested making it an "oops" and putting it back on their shelf, while swapping out for the correct paint. It probably was my fault for not double checking, and grabbing the paint myself and bringing it to the counter like I usually do. Either way, Lilly went above and beyond with such a soft, genuine, polite attitude towards the entire exchange. SHE is what customer service is all about. SHE is what makes a company like H.D. great. SHE is the type of person every company needs at the forefront when dealing with customers. It's so cliché, but it was such a "breath of fresh air" dealing with her through the process this morning. She just made it easy, enjoyable and friendly. I have not experienced many people is customer service who are as genuine as she is, so for that - GOOD ON YOU H.D. for hiring someone so capable to deal with the public/peole like she does. You just don't see that old soul mentality anymore these days. So for that... Thank you, Lilly! My wife and I wish you all the best and hope to see you again at H.D.!
