My husband initially brought my phone there after the screen went black. We paid them almost $400 and left it there so they could fix it. I went to pick it up when they said it would be ready, but it wasn’t. They hadn’t even ordered the part yet. I was frustrated with no phone, so the nice employee called the owner and asked if he wanted to speak to me. I could hear him loud and clear and was shocked that he said no. I understand it doesn’t sound appealing to talk to a frustrated customer, I get that, but as the owner, that’s his responsibility. Regardless, they agreed to give me a loaner phone and kept my phone over the weekend. On Tuesday, I went to pick it up and arrived at 5:40; I knew they closed at six. However, the doors were locked and the lights were off; they had closed early. It took me several days to make it over there again, but eventually, I did. I decided to cut my losses, get my phone, and go about my life. When I picked it up, the same nice guy told me that whoever repaired it the first time had not put in some important plates and to bring it back if anything else went wrong with the phone, and they would take care of it. As concerning as it was to hear, I said I would and went on my way. I went to AT&T, spent an hour there waiting to activate a phone again, and thought everything was fine until I made my first phone call. It sounded like I was talking to a robot and made the most horrible, shrill, ear-piercing sound anytime someone spoke. I set the phone down, frustrated, and hours later, I picked it up & the entire screen was white. I couldn’t do anything with it yet again. I would have to wait two more days without a phone to speak with them on Monday, assuming they chose to open during regular business hours. Monday rolled around, and I headed back to the store . The guy who works there is nice, but apparently, he has no power whatsoever. He literally calls his boss for everything. He knew all the subpar service I had received so far, so he took my phone, told me they would fix it, and let me know. It's no surprise that they did not do either. By the end of the week, I still hadn’t heard from them, so I went by the store only to have the same employee tell me that he knew it wasn’t possible because I only had it for a few hours, but the water trigger had gone off on my phone since he had it last. The phone was closed when I got back, so I’m not sure if they didn’t cause it to go off somehow. I wouldn’t even know how to look for something like that, but I had it in the same spot the whole time I had it bc it didn’t work anyway. He told me that it didn’t even look like water damage because there were no splatter marks on the trigger, and usually there are. Frustrated, I agreed to leave it there longer while he talked it over with his boss again. Several days later, I called back because I still hadn’t heard anything. He promised the boss would call me, and he finally did. He told me how much it cost him to break my phone twice, leave out those necessary plates, and have to replace another screen because they screwed the first one up so badly. He said they would not be fixing it. So they still have my iPhone 13 Pro Max, which I’m sure they’ll repair and sell, & my $400. This is not just bad business; it is stealing. I’ll be taking them to small claims court, so hopefully, there will be restitution. In the meantime, let me suggest that you don’t bring your phone to The Broken Phone unless you want to pay them only to get back exactly that: a broken phone.
