I asked to have my ends trimmed, but also to have some layers added to my hair. I am now sporting the worst layers I've ever seen (and I've had layers off and on for 35 years). I came home the first day and curled my hair to see if I could hide them. It didn't work. The second day (today), I straightened my hair to see if I could hide them; that was even worse than curling. I tossed it up into a ponytail and figured I could just wear one of those for the next several months -- but then I looked in the mirror. Even the ponytail is a disaster. I googled, and google tells me that time, curling, and scrunching are really the only cures for hiding bad layers. I scrunched a few minutes ago and am hoping that once it dries it will look better than any of the other things I've tried so far. I truly am shocked by the haircut and can't believe I either have to go out in public like this or pay someone else to fix it for me. I do know that there are likely employees at this salon who do excellent work; unfortunately, I did not get one of those employees on this particular visit. (I do know her name, but am unwilling to state it here in case she was just having an off morning. After all, it's only hair, and hair grows. It's not the end of my world -- but it is bad enough that I think it deserves a warning.) Please take a look at the picture of the ponytail that I attached and then seriously consider your other options if you're wanting layers.
