We walked into the store to return a pair of shoes. We stood at the counter for almost 5 minutes without being noticed. I walked around a bit and found two ladies toward the back of the store. They were just standing around and talking. One was discussing needing to take time off for her child’s birthday. Since they saw me, I thought sure they would try to wait on us. I was wrong. They both ended up going to the back room. We waited awhile longer and my husband decided to just go knock on the door to see if we could get service. Just as he was close to doing that, one of the ladies came out and he asked for help. She said we could not return the shoes without a receipt because we could not prove we got them from this store. I commented that usually stores supported one another, and that it was a clerk from the Woodward store that was here waiting on me. She was very snappy and said “see, that’s proof you were given a receipt”. We weren’t questioning the receipt, I was just stating who was in the store. So there’s nothing we can do? She said we could trade them for another pair. This was after more rude exchange from her. We found a different pair of shoes and she said “nope, I won’t do this. I won’t give change. I said at this point I don’t even care. She told me she didn’t appreciate my attitude. I told her I just wanted to finish the transaction, and I didn’t appreciate being spoken to that way especially since she didn’t seem to have a desire to wait on us since they both left the store completely unattended. She informed me she was back there doing inventory and that was a part of her job. I said I thought customer service might be a part also. I then left my husband to finish the transaction and went to the car. When he got in the car he said she told him we were not welcome back in the store. Not a problem. We would not go back anyway. I will, however recommend the Woodward store. The trainer from that store was amazing.
