I’ve worked at a gas station for 3 years and I know the ins and outs of the lottery. Anyways, I only scratch the barcodes instead of scratching the ticket to save time. I bring the 2 tickets to the counter, and the clerk tried to pull a switch a roo on me. He cashed my $40 ticket but said he didn’t have enough to cash my $50. So mr slick at the register gave me back the ticket he already cashed and kept the winning $50 ticket. When I went to another gas station to cash my $50 ticket it said it was already cashed. I went back to this gas station, and the manager found the actual $50 ticket that he switched in a bin where they keep tickets. (It was literally the only ticket in the bin without the little receipt stapled to it.) and after all this the manager gives me a horrible attitude even though they were in the wrong and he yells at me to go cash it somewhere else.. seriously?? They were upset cuz they weren’t able to cheat me out of $50??? I’ve been a customer there for over $20 years, I’ve spent tens of thousands on gas and lottery there but I will not spend another single penny there again with that kind of service. Still deciding if I should call shell corporate or the Illinois lottery. I’m not the petty spiteful type but with the treatment I received when I was nothing but nice and cordial and they were rude and disrespectful especially when they were definitely in the wrong.
