DO NOT SPEND MONEY HERE!
This company is more expensive , for poorer service.
Back in May I took my car into Shelby’s , I had already had an alarm system on my car for 5+ years which had eventually glitched and would go off for no reason , even if the car was driving.
So I went to Shelby’s to see if they could fix it , or if not replace it. They told me they couldn’t fix it , and would just get me a new alarm with the same functions. They told me they couldn’t install a kill-switch like my old alarm had and I said no problem , it was not needed.
Was helped by a lady in the shop.
So I agreed , and was told the car would probably be ready end of day. By the end of day I called in and was told it would probably take until the next morning. So I agreed to leave it overnight, and the next day called again and again as I wasn’t getting calls , to find out it would take ANOTHER day. I ubered to and from work due to this , until I got a call saying it was ready and ubered to the shop (probably $100 in Ubers alone, but so be it)
Upon pick up of the car the alarm seemed great, I loved its use and was happy. Spent $650 for this , which was pretty high but I trusted this company as they had great reviews and I wanted it done right.
2 months later as my car is getting washed , the alarm glitched and killed my engine. Car wouldn’t start, and I was stranded. So I got a ride home , Ubered back in the morning and called a tow truck (another $100 here for Uber/tow). Tow truck took the car to Honda to see what was wrong. Honda had the car for 3/4 days and kept insisting that the alarm was the issue , along with the Body Control Module. They wanted to remove the alarm and install a new Body Control Module . I asked them to swap the Body Control Module , but leave the alarm on it. They do that, and the car still won’t start. They tell me they HAVE to remove the alarm , so I allow them to. Immediately after they remove the alarm the car starts.
They put it in a box , and have me pay the $1500 repair and send me on my way.
I went back to Shelby’s a week later to let them know and see how they can help.
The same lady greets me and looks over everything , and goes to talk to her installer to investigate. Installer is ADAMANT it’s impossible that the alarm is the issue , even after I showed him the receipt reflecting this.
The lady told me she would call me back after talking to Honda to investigate , so I left.
3 days later , no call back , so I reach out to them to get an update , and the lady says she hasn’t heard back.
A week after this, I called again after not hearing anything back. The lady again tells me she hasn’t heard from them and will call me.
I never heard back from this shop.
This is a place that swears they are the best and worth being more expensive , but actually provide amateur service and horrible customer service after.
I run and operate a business myself , and would never treat a customer this way. STAY AWAY
