Lousy service with misinformation.
I stopped by this store on Dec 9th for some hair and skin care products. After picking up several items, one of the sales told me I could receive some goodies if I purchased another hair product. I was confused and surprised, but who doesn't like goodies, so I double-checked with her what kinds and how to get them. She told me there would be some skincare and oil products, not the foundations or other usual stuff, because of the holiday season. I also confirmed with her that I just needed to check out first and then ask the cashier. So I went to the checkout desk and paid off my order.
However, when I asked the cashier, "Is there any goodie with the purchase?" the cashier said, "There is no goodie; we're out of goodies," with an annoying face. Btw, she didn't smell either during the entire checkout. I was very confused, then said, "But the girl in the front area of the store just told me if I purchase this item, it would be some goodies". Then this girl talked to someone over her headset, opened a drawer under her desk, grabbed two small packet samples, and put them into my Sephora shopping bag. Again, she was insulting, didn't explain anything, just put them into the bag with her annoying face. I felt very uncomfortable because of her attitude, so I said, "I don't want these. I will check with the girl who told me about the goodies". So I returned the two packets to her and asked the 1st girl what was happening. Very interesting, now the 1st girl just told me, "We don't have goodies. Only the online store gives goodies. There is a miscommunication." Meanwhile, another employee went to us, kept saying the same, and tried to give a couple of sample packets. I refused and told them, "I don't need these samples; I just came here for some nice shopping after work. This is not what I expected; I feel very uncomfortable; you know what? I don't want these items anymore; I will return them". So I went back to the cashier and returned my purchase right away. The 3rd girl who did my return asked me what the reason for the return was, so I explained what happened. She pretended she didn't care at all, just kept saying, "Only online stores offer goodies; we only give samples for a reason," "I'm not part of this," and " Have you opened the products?". After she finished the return, I asked her if I could talk to the manager, and she said the manager had taken the day off. Then I said I will write a review. She said, "It's your choice; there is nothing I can do. If you want, I can ring your order and give you more samples.". I said no and left the store.
Overall, the entire team of this store doesn't know about honesty and customer service. I will not return to this store for sure. I'm mainly doing my beauty purchases with department stores, Bluemercury and Med SPA. So I think I will just burn the 1000s points left on my Sephora account and never shop with them again.
