Deep in Kings Canyon, the location is great for seeing the sights and proximity to great hiking trails. The sites are decent sized and there is quite a bit of shade, though some sites have full sun. It can get hot as the elevation is...Read More

We loved our stay here. The campground is way off the beaten path, but appears to stay full during busy season. The bathrooms can be a bit of a walk. No showers in the campground, but they do have pay showers next door. All campsites...Read More

🌲The campsite was spacious, with a good distance between sites, providing plenty of privacy. 🌲The ground was flat, making it easy to set up camp. 🌲We enjoyed a beautiful view by the river, which was very peaceful. 🌲The bathrooms were clean and well-maintained, 🌲and there were water taps near...Read More

Best experience ever. Clean camp grounds, with river flowing by. We visited this place in summer, the river flow was more. It was more like a small village in a forest. Beware of Bears😁 , as the place is theirs . 😊 There is a food...Read More

Sentinel Campground in Kings Canyon National Park is one of our favorites. Stayed in campsite # 34 this trip. Large pull-through site, with plenty of beautiful shade trees and a open field. We hiked, biked and fly fished right from the campground. Some camp sites...Read More

Perfect for spontaneous campers! Even if it says the lot is full there might still be maybe two or three spots available that you have to kind of look for! So much fun, there are showers, clean restrooms, and there's a little market, laundry...Read More

Clean campsites and bathrooms. Showers and laundry are a minute drive away and a small store as well. Lots of hiking trails nearby and river to go in but be careful water is cold and the current is strong

Spacious campsites and clean restrooms with flushing toilets. Most of the men's bathroom didn't have soap, so bring your own. We had a great time definitely will be back if a spot ever opens up again.

Lots of space in each Campsite! They emphasize putting ALL food and scented items in the bear box for a reason! We went for a hike within the Campground and saw a black bear with two cubs along the creek. Restroom was clean, saw staff...Read More

I don't know what I loved more about this place... The warm smell of pine on the breeze, or soothing sound of the river gurgling at night. I really enjoyed the tools available to remove excess fire pit ashes and rake away needles and pinecones...Read More

Yes there are restrooms with plumbing, however it's always a good idea to pack toilet paper/wipes in case they run out.

Bears! But the Rangers were on top of things! I think the seasoned respectful campers are back. No loud music. No trash. Great experience!

I have been camping at Sentinel since 1981. Back then few people other than backpackers knew about it. Though the crowds are there now it’s still one of my favorite camp grounds.

Sure it depends on what you expect. It's a campground in the woods with only restrooms. The showers and laundry are located across the river. Everything is very basic but this was charming. It was quiet and beautiful. I definitely would come back.

Beautiful, quiet campground in the midst of tall pine trees and a river. No noisy neighbors when we were here. Lots of pine cones and dead wood to be collected in and around the campsite. One of our favorite campgrounds to date.
