TLDR: I thought my laptop was a gonner. At the very least, One guy told me that my charger port needed to be replaced, which was a part no one had. A certain Big Box store would have required me to send it to their texas center and wait two weeks for an answer. I was heartbroken and terrified that even if It could get fixed, it wouldn't be before I lost my job or something.
I just happened to pass by Screen Fixing, googled it, called, figured worse thing is they could have a look at it before my appointment at Big Box Store so that they could let me know if they could get the part in faster than the 2 weeks it'd take Big Box store to even diagnose the issue.... I made it clear how desperate I was that they do not wipe my data. Something that happened to my son at Big Box store for just a broken screen.
Well these guys diagnosed my problem within 3 hours. Then they had my computer fixed within 24. There was no broken charger port. No fried motherboard. Just needed to do a MCOS update (i think that's what it was. They were friendly and kept me informed every step of the way. They have earned a regular customer. I'll be cancelling my big box total membership and getting insurance with these guys.
