We’re not renewing our membership. Every time we shop and spend our money, we walk out with a terrible experience thanks to one specific middle-aged woman who makes EVERY visit miserable. Most of the employees are fine, but this particular woman is rude, bitter, and seems to go out of her way to create unnecessary conflicts. During our first interaction with her, she yelled “MA’AM” at my mother repeatedly while “helping” us insert a card—even though we never asked for her help. It was shocking that someone with such an attitude works here; she must have put on a mask during her interview. When we called out her yelling and nasty attitude, she walked away acting arrogant and said, “Don’t ask for my help then.”It’s clear she doesn’t know how to treat customers. Our second interaction with her was at the exit, where she “randomly” chose to stop us and scan our items after letting the people in front of and behind us walk out without issue. At this point, it felt targeted. I won’t jump to say it’s racially motivated (like many would), but when we asked why she stopped us and whether it was truly random, she dodged the question and brushed us off entirely. The reality is, her job isn’t even that hard. Scanning items and being polite to customers shouldn’t be difficult, yet she consistently chooses to act like as if it’s the hardest job on the planet. If it’s so painful to work without attitude, maybe it’s time to consider early retirement or find work in a position that doesn’t involve customer service. One unprofessional employee is all it takes to drive customers away, and I genuinely feel sorry for anyone who has to deal with her in the future.
