The owner Nicole wears two masks of conduct and frequently reduced my son to tears, by insulting him about everything from his choice of clothes, to sandals , and though he was there to learn, she dug into his sense of self and frequently criticized him with lines such as;
- Hurry up and play I have better students who deserve more than you. You have no talent .
- you stink at everything and you have no talent whatsoever. My time should go to someone who deserves me.
My son didn’t tell me how she treated him behind closed doors, often trying to make it late to not go because of the emotional abuse dealt by Nicole Russo when no parent watches.
I did approach her with my concerns and voiced my suggestion on how she could talk more positively to my son. It lasted only for the one day and that was because other parents were listening in the main waiting area.
The nasty underhand comments resumed and often we came to class give or take 5-8 minutes sometimes ten minutes, due to traffic conditions getting into Noe valley.
She would not be there and we waited for another 10 minutes before other teachers told us Nicole canceled the class 5 minutes into our arrival.
Sometimes she would not come into class.
His previous teacher Kathryn Feller, was lackluster at progressing him past book 1 of his piano lessons, and Nicole told us how
Disappointed she was in her capacity to teach.
She said there is a lot of music to be learned, and that she is ashamed of Kathryn, for under performing as a teacher and that she regrets hiring Kathryn .
I can aptly say, if one teacher can openly denigrate another, no one is living to Nicole’s standards.
She can betray anyone in a minute and make it known and heard loud and clear, meanwhile she is with much fault herself to tear my son apart and possibly many more children.
As a result of everything and over 5 years of enrollment at Russo Music School, we finally canceled .
Russo has FRAUDULENTLY withdrawn money on a recurring basis of over $200.85 despite the written email communication of cancellation.
I have dealt with and again today in August, they have deducted the same amount despite cancellation.
I’d have to appeal with a BBB about Russo Music school.
Very fraudulent company and extremely abusive and awkward energy at Russo music school.
Be careful to closely monitor your child, and ask them how they feel after class. Better yet, there are better teachers who don’t have her behavior towards children.
