I talked to Jonathan on the phone, about setting up my new board. Jon says he will get my board riding optimal, if I come in. Jon seemed rather pleasant at first, on the phone. I make the drive to get my new board worked on. I meet Jon, and he begins working on my board. One of Jon's friends come in while Jon is working on my board. Jon drops everything he's doing, including the conversation we were having, to talk to his buddy who just walked in, and what an extremely rude thing to do, and unprofessional at that. Jon ask some guy named Sam, who I come to find out doesn't even work there, and runs a skateshop called "Life", to finish up the work he had started. This Sam guy tightens one of the nuts on my board so tight, that it puts a big crack in my new board. I believe this was done deliberately, because this Sam guy didn't like that I was asking him to be careful with his tightening, because it is a brand new board. Jon replaces the board his friend Sam damaged, so all good. I'm starting to think this Jon guy is a pretty awesome dude, but sadly, I was wrong apparently. I extended my friendship, and asked Jon if he might wanna hangout and skate sometime, and he ignores me. I ended up taking a pretty bad fall on the skateboard Jon recommended as a replacement, and broke some ribs. I let Jon know that I got hurt, and his response was, "I'm glad to hear that". I know falling is a part of skating, but what a rotten thing to say to someone, period. I was only trying to befriend this guy, just to be treated like this. I would rather he had just been man enough to say, I'm not interested in being friends. Instead, he just ignored me, well, up until I told him how I'd gotten injured. I'm not saying my fall was due to a deliberately shotty setup done by Jon, but I'm not saying it had nothing to do with it either. Something tells me all of these 5 star ratings, come from friends and family. Also, this dude obviously fakes kindness to get business, because he certainly did not reciprocate my kindness. From my experience, I was treated with disrespect, and rejection, just for trying to befriend the guy. Now that I know Jon's true colors, I don't want friends like that anyway. On top of everything else, the shop is a little hole in the wall, with a very poor parking arrangement. I doubt we'll ever be friends, but I definitely expect better treatment in the future, and I hope that no one else ever has to be made to feel, like I was made to feel by this guy. They make you have to give at least one star as a rating, but I'd have given exactly one star anyway, for the board replacement. I would be very cautious of Rhett Skateboarding, as well as Life Skateboards.
