Ray Kong, my sales agent and now friend, stayed past working closing hours during Christmas Eve to make sure I had my car for Christmas. I'm not sure what else needs to be said about him, but I'll elaborate. Ray was the first person who greeted me at Redwood City Porsche. I clearly remember our first conversation was about the LWB, lightweight bucket seats, vs sport seats. At that time, there was (and still is) a shortage of 911 in the showroom. None of the models on the showroom had the LWB at that time...except ONE car, a red GT2 RS. While I was looking at the seats from afar, I noticed the lights blinking and the car unlocking. I look around and I notice Ray from a distance pointing at the car and motioning for me to get in. I asked if it was okay and he encouraged me to take a seat in the bucket seats and he said no more. I had made up my mind that sport seats was my choice, despite what all the people in the forums and car sales sites say about bucket seats being THE only sensible option for a car enthusiast. My aging back would not tolerate the buckets for daily use! After a few discussions, I could sense that he was not only knowledgeable about cars, but he also understood the market and I made a very reasonable and comfortable offer that was ultimately accepted! What happened next shows that Ray has his customers best interest in mind. As a first time buyer of a new 911 (I own a used 2007 911 Turbo), my instinct was to check all the options boxes because I wanted this to be my "be all and end all" car. This was when Ray told me to be reasonable, unchecked a few options that saved me $$$ to configure a car that in fact, turned out perfect for my needs. I was touched when he said "You can spec the manual and LWB when you get a GT3". *smiley face*The journey from ordering to taking delivery took 6 months with delays that were beyond Ray's control. Yet he kept me informed and reminded me that it would be worth the wait and oh man, was he right. Now on to the purchase agreements. At this point I was about to embark on the most dreaded part of purchasing cars at dealership which turned out to be a seamless transaction with Calvin, who did my financing with Redwood City Porsche. Calvin simply said "Ray spoke highly of you and told me to take care of you like his own family". That is all I needed to hear before reviewing the numbers and signing the papers. I selected the PPF (clear bra) after I was told they use Xpel and wheel and tire package from Calvin's recommendation. As an aside, Calvin was the 2nd person who stayed behind with Ray to deliver my car after closing during Christmas Eve. Calvin took a clean microfiber towel and wiped the roof and the door panels to clean even the smallest water spots because he wanted the car to be perfect for me. Something he didn't think I would notice, but I did and appreciate.I'm not sure what else needs to be said, but my experience with Ray and Calvin at Redwood City Porsche has been EXCELLENT. MERRY CHRISTMAS 2022!
