Visited this store in Salem for the first time hoping to buy water. This was a group of 5 friends. Firstly we found out that there was a 10$ minimum on purchases and decided to not buy the water. Me and a friend were sitting on the chairs across from the counter. While discussing where we would travel next, since a 10$ minimum is ridiculous, the lady running the store addressed my friend by saying “hey long legs, buy the water and get out”. When we responded with confusion (respectfully) she responded “are you shopping? are you trying to seduce men?or are you going to get out?” (This was a comment on my friend’s outfit for Halloween. She wore a skirt with tights on underneath and shorts.)
Things to keep in mind is that yes, we came in a group of 5.
We were being respectful. Not being loud, and came with the intention to buy. If we had been rude or rowdy I could understand her asking us to leave but we were respectful the whole time and were sitting on chairs that were inside the store. There were very few other people inside so it’s not like the store was crowded or she needed to make room. We were not blocking entrances or exits and no one else was waiting.
This was just simply rude.
