There's two guys who work here in the morning I see just about every day and a few others who are sometimes back in the kitchen. These guys make me smile. This place is everything I loved about rural gas stations and wasn't something I expected this close to downtown. If you're kind to these fellows (you know, say please and thank you as appropriate), they will treat you with respect back. They have a lot local yard workers coming in who give them a lot of sass so you might think they're a little gruff at first. They just don't know you yet and I highly recommend you let 'em get to know you. If you want some hot breakfast, you'll need to swing by before 8 before they run out of burritos and meat/egg sandwiches. They start stacking up lunch items after that, both are equally good and they usually have a bit to choose from. If you're not sure what you want, ask them to recommend something! Probably some of the best sandwiches and burritos you can get for about $3 or less each. They also stock some hot pizza slices. If you like spicy/hot chips they've got several varieties in the snack aisle too. While the warehouse district of KCK can be a bit of a scary place, these guys will give you a smile, maybe share a joke, and get you back on your way in no time. Just be aware the shop isn't open 24/7 like a lot of other places. You can get gas at the pump around the clock, but they do close up the shop at 6pm.
One of the most unique gems I've found while finding alternative commuting routes.
