first time at this mall coming from LA. I had a pleasant experience, a quarter of the stores being unoccupied, even with that I still managed to find stores that peaked my interest.

Great memories as a kid coming here, seems like less clothing stores are available lately and there are more gaming or things to do for little kids. Only see this place get crowded around Christmas lately. Seems like it never fully recovered after covid.

Worst mall in California. Besides Pro Image the place is trash. The mayor and city council have destroyed Ventura. The once beautiful town is now a garbage dump. Painful to say Santa Paula and Oxnard are more desirable places to hang out.

TLDR: Very cute mall! Just be careful. The massage chairs are easily the best thing about this mall. They feel like the real thing and cost a lot less! However, you should have a fair amount of cash on hand if you want to use one, because they charge significantly more for cards. Also, they have a lot of kawaii shops! Love it! You don’t normally see this much cute stuff together in the same place this far away from LA. The food court is decent. I recommend Sbarro. Love their spaghetti! They also have a Subway and some Asian cuisine. Not much to choose from, but good stuff. They also have a very pretty carousel which, unfortunately, doesn’t work. They don’t even allow you to sit on it. I guess it’s just a decoration. I was a victim of a data breach at the Hot Topic there. Consider paying with cash if you buy anything at that location. As for the Target there, they’re strict with when they open the door to the other part of the mall (they don’t wait until a little late, so it poses a time issue for people who work at other shops at the mall) and every single one of the self-checkout machines have been broken since at least a year or two ago, so you have to walk all the way to the tech aisle to buy literally anything there. And the skincare guys tend to harass you out of your money. They bug already-attractive women and prey on their insecurities and their entire wallets. Avoid them as well as you can, girlies (especially if you only work minimum wage jobs, as they will take your whole paycheck)! There are plenty of claw machines that charge $1 per token, which doesn’t sound like a lot of money, but your likelyhood of winning is SUPER slim, so be very careful and maybe only play with these machines if you have A LOT of money on your hands! The worst part has to be the bus station. Almost nothing but homeless old crackheads camping out there. Looks like skid row, and the bathroom doesn’t even have soap. I’ve been flirted with there by a creepy man and even caught someone sleeping in the dirt there once. All in all not a horrible mall, but maybe don’t bring your kids. And whatever you do, don’t let your kids go anywhere near the bus stop!
