Great place to look around- I purchased a cute pair of shorts and a nice top for $5. I don't know what people are expecting but this is a volunteer organization- if you're rude to them, the they should be rude to you. They are volunteers. Also, yes they collect sales tax cause they are required by law to. They are tax exempt from paying taxes but not from collecting taxes from you. If you dont want to pay, get a tax exempt certificate like they have. I would be rude to if someone kept asking me about paying sales tax on a $2 dress or belt - over and over again.
I had an amazing experience. I am from out of town - Pennsylvania- so if you want rude - come to my state. I was very happy and met some lovely women in the dressing area. See for yourself and shop for yourself - wonderful place. Plus it's for charity. Win - Win
Update - yes, I did go back and scored a beautiful blue Clavin Klein dress for $5 and two leather belts for $2 each. I have to say, I look awesome in the dress 🤭.
