Was here few years ago and as an adopted child now adult trying to connect to and better understand my Indigenous Odawa and Chippewa Ojibwe roots from Michigan and Canada by coming here. This was a wonderful experience and I learned alot a few years back. Went back with my Service Dog and had another wonderful experience. Will come back and see if through the data archives and my biological family surnames we can locate my Indigenous Odawa and Chippewa ancestry from my fathers side, while my mother was Kickapoo. I hope evn with the minimum blood quantim, based on where we know my relatives are from including Burt Lake and Saginaw, that I can at least find some closure as an adopted child now an adult. And hopeful the information as I was told is there in the archives and registery, just need to find it. I'm not looking to get anything out of this, other than a better understanding and knowing more of the Indigenous groups my parents belonged to and will continueto learn the languageOjibweI grew up with prior to being adopted. My sister also suggested even though my grandmother gave me a name, it was long over due to go she said through a naming ceremony if possible to receive one as I'm an adult now, though I have no idea how to even go about that.
