It’s not very large but absolutely jam packed with awesome exhibits! Definitely worth the time to take and explore. The Ichthyosaurus exhibit is phenomenal and I felt like a kid exploring it. They have a cute cafe (didn’t eat; can’t rate the food) but it...Read More

They had an excellent collection of Dorothea Lange photographs, a brilliant portrait of Ella Fitzgerald by Beauford Delaney, and an impressive collection of paintings by Judith Lowry. I think other reviewers here have been harsh. I quite enjoyed my afternoon at the Nevada Museum of Art.

Walked from the airport on my layover. Totally worth it. I wish I could've stayed longer. The Langston Hughes exhibit was my favorite.

I went to see the Maynard Dixon exhibit here, and it brought me to tears. What a great show! It took two years to put this together, and I totally fell in love with this wonderful artist. It also helped me reinvigorate my love for the...Read More

The museum is quite fascinating. Despite its small size compared to other museums, it was impressive to see how efficiently they utilized the space and displayed their collection. I particularly enjoyed examining some of the artworks they had. If you find yourself in Reno with...Read More

What a fun place to escape the downtown bustle. They're expanding (50,000 ft!), and that area won't be open until Spring 2025, but the rest of the place is beautiful—wonderful permanent collections, along with fun, educational temporary ones. The café was closed when I went, but...Read More

Very cool and unique exhibits. As a Dinosaur superfan, I was especially thrilled with the 3rd floor exhibit that had a huge toy dinosaur collection as well as many ichthyosaurus fossils! Staff were very friendly and helpful as well!

Museum's architecture ECLECTIC & OVERSTYLED but somehow cool... Less narcissism and more LESS IS MORE should have been advised... Staff friendly...but please provide comfy chairs for the watch-personnel! Half of exhibition non-art...museum needs to find a coherent concept... Cool but hidden ORANGE RESTROOMS!

Went to catch the Maynard Dixon exhibition before it closes soon. Just astounding, how accurately he rendered Great Basin scenery. They also have an exhibit related to Aborigines painting a giant canvas with ancestral maps, and winning back territory in northern Western Australia State.

I was fortunate enough to visit while the Dorothea Lange exhibit was there, and it was incredible. The Judith Lowry exhibit was just stunning. The museum has been recently renovated, and the gathering spaces were open and inviting. We visited two rooftop areas that are used...Read More

I went to this museum about a year or so ago. The art installations were few and it was obvious they were just getting started. I waited another year to see if they were able to expand on their exhibits, and sure enough they did....Read More
