Read MoreI used Modern Barber for years under the Mazzoccolis and always got a consistent cut, but I fell out of the habit while in college. For most of my adult life, I used big box hair shops but there was no consistency and it was frustrating. I tried some of the new flight of barber shops but found them to be greatly overpriced and aimed at a much younger, more urban crowd. Those shops often make it known that I'm not welcome within seconds of entering the shop, even if they don't *say* anything to that effect. I ended up back at Modern Barber last year and can't understand why I ever left.
The shop is clean, welcoming and inviting. The staff is able to switch seamlessly from traditional haircuts to modern haircuts with fades and lines and more without missing a beat. You can often find a diverse mix of clients in the chair or waiting for their appointment. They do equally well with young, old and in-between, and they're priced well below the new flight of barber shops elsewhere in town for what I believe is an excellent service.
I have to get my hair cut to conform with military regulations. This has proven to be problematic as I'm thinning on top and some of the hair cutters at big box shops really don't know what to do with that. My specific issues have never proven to be a problem for the staff at Modern Barber and I always leave with my hair looking trim and squared away. This is just a great place to get a haircut!
