I moved to East Haven about 8 months ago, and needed to find a good Barber shop. I had heard good things about Michael Anthony’s, so decided to give it a try. I made an appointment with Johny, and he did a great job. I had gotten maybe 2 more haircuts from him within a few months, which all were great, until the third haircut. Johny gave me a great cut, it came out to 28 dollars, I gave him two twenty dollar bills, and told him to take 5 for himself as a tip. He then took his money out of his pocket, gave me back a five dollar bill, only to realize he had no singles for the remaining two dollars of my change. Instead of finding two more dollars, or just explaining to me he was short on singles like a mature adult or businessman would, he looks up at me without hesitation and says, “Alright man, thanks for coming in, have a good one”, and shakes my hand. Let me be clear, the two dollars means absolutely nothing to me, therefore I would never cause a scene in public, but I feel that it’s my obligation to warn others on the childish customer service that was provided by Johny at Michael Anthony's Barber Shop. I can not speak for the rest of the employees here, but as a business owner myself, I would be appalled if my employees behaved and represented my company like this. I will not ever be returning to this barber shop, and I if you do decide to give it a chance, stay away from Johny.
