Today, I had a frustrating experience at this store. When I tried to check out, I was told I couldn’t purchase damaged bags of topsoil for $1.00, even though a gentleman in the garden section had informed me earlier that I could get a discount based on the amount of soil lost or 10% off, which he confirmed after speaking with Ayesha over the phone. I explained that I had previously purchased damaged bags of topsoil for $1.00 in line with store policy, but the gentleman told me the policy had changed, and he was following the new discount guidelines. When I asked to see this policy, he refused to show it to me.
I then went to the service desk to speak with Ayesha directly and explained the situation just as I had with the gentleman. Unfortunately, her tone was borderline disrespectful. She said the store manager wasn’t available, refused to show me the policy, and declined to offer any discount on the damaged bags. Instead, she told me to speak with the store manager tomorrow, leaving the situation unresolved.
Unfortunately, your response guides me to a useless number. The number you provided is a spin off number. The associate on the other end had no idea how to address this matter or why somebody would provide this number to me. Bad business, and poor communication. It appears to be the culture of the store and the corporation.
The situation persists. I’ve made several attempts to speak directly with the store manager, but it seems the staff is actively preventing that from happening. The 800 number provided in response to my last review feels like a weak attempt to avoid addressing the underlying issues with the store’s culture. Moving forward, I’ll be taking my business elsewhere. I’m deeply disappointed by the behavior of the employees at this location, as well as the inadequate response I’ve received.
