Disappointing Return Policy and Customer Service at Lowe's located in Dulles Town Center Sterling VA Store.
I recently had a frustrating experience with Lowe's Store Manager Carlos, and Gladys Incharge of the Pick up department while attempting to return a dishwasher I had purchased. During the purchase process, the return policy was not explained to me at all that they have changed the appliance return policy to 48 hours instead of 90 days, which left me unaware of the extremely short return window.
When I tried to return the item, I was surprised and disappointed to learn about this restrictive policy. Had I been informed of these conditions upfront, I would have considered my purchase more carefully and would never buy it with such a restrictive policy. Clear communication about return policies is essential, especially for high-value items like dishwashers, and this oversight felt like a lack of transparency. It is not possible to return a dish washer in 48 hours because you have to give it few washes to find out completely about its performance level.
The customer service during the return process only added to the frustration. Instead of acknowledging the communication gap by the staff, the staff seemed indifferent to my concerns. Their unwillingness to offer a solution or accommodate the situation left me feeling undervalued as a customer. The manager Carlos never behaved as a manager to deal with the customer as a "customer" and appreciate my business as a Pro Account holder with Lowe's.
This experience has left me with a poor impression of Lowe's staff especially the manager Carlos and Gladys interaction. I would advise potential customers to ensure they ask for all policy details beforehand, as the store does not appear to prioritize transparency or customer satisfaction. All customers beware of buying any high value items from Lowe's and better to go to Home Depot and buy appliances instead or buy from any other stores with better return policies. Never go to Lowe's store.
