One star, only because I had to give at least one...
The morning of August 16, 2024, my a tire sensor light came on. I panicked, and drive to the nearest tire place which was Les Schwab on Elk Grove Blvd. I've been to other locations and had a decent experiences, but this time, I was blown away by my experience.
After letting the sales rep know my tire sensor came on, my vehicle was inspected. I was later given a quote saying I needed 8 different services, including two new tire sensors and two new tires.
The mechanic literally told me he wouldn't feel good about putting new sensors in bad tires, so I should replace at least two tires, too, for the two sensors, and I'll need the other services listed as well.
My vehicle is used, I purchased it last June, but it had new tires at the time it was sold.
The Les Schwab quote sensors and service the mechanic claimed I needed came out to a total of $789.58, quote attached.
I was in shock and disbelief, so I went to another Elk Grove tire business for a second opinion. I did not share what I was told by les schwab because I wanted an unbiased opinion of my tire sensor problem. After they inspected my car, I was told that my front driver side sensor needed to be replaced and the total bill would ONLY be $130.25! (See attached) After seeing the difference in the quotes and prices, I couldn't help but feel I was over quoted by over $600 by Les schwab because I am a woman. I was there alone, and the Les Schwab mechanic assumed I'd be gullable, and I'm sure this probably happens a lot at this location.
