Brought in our Ford Escape for an oil change and to have them fix an internal water leak dripping in the passenger floor board. We were 99% sure it was the AC drain since it hadn't rained in a couple weeks and the AC wasn't draining out of the bottom of the car as it would normally do after running. We were able to get under the car and push a coat hanger into the drain tube and get some draining, but it didn't last, we assumed it was blocked by something. We had also tried running water over the sunroof and under the hood in the past to rule out anything like a sunroof drain or something along those lines, but it all pointed to the AC drain. All of this was explained to the service manager Chip, but apparently it went in one ear and out the other as nothing was written down and passed to the service tech. They proceeded to take apart the cowl and found that it was old and had some dry rot and explained that was the issue. They even said that they ran it through the car wash multiple times to prove it was the cause (this was a lie). They also said that they had multiple hours in diagnosing the issue so we were already in for that. Well, $1100 later we picked up the car and drove it home to find that it still leaked exactly as it was (still no rain for multiple weeks now). We also noticed the car had never been run through the carwash like they said (same bird droppings and dirt on the car as before we brought it in), so they completely lied about the cowl being the issue, lied about the testing with the carwash, and they clearly never even tested it afterwards. They lied to get an unnecessary thousand dollar fix.Pissed, we took it right back to Landers and talked to the service manager. They immediately put it on a lift and found a "crimped AC drain" and fixed it right there. It took them like 10 minutes. Now I'm out $1100 because they lied, falsified information, and fixed the wrong damn thing. Of course, they offer no compensation, no explanation of why/how this happened, and no apologies.I'm sending this information to Ford as well and I will not be doing business with Landers service again. It is a shame since I have purchased multiple vehicles at Landers and have been pleased with their sales team. It's unfortunate how something like this completely negates your faith in a business. I am in the market to purchase another vehicle and will likely be going elsewhere for that too. Be wary of Landers Ford's service team in Collierville.
