Our family recently stayed at John Muir Lodge and had a wonderful experience. We booked two standard queen rooms, and the staff went out of their way to ensure we had adjoining rooms with views of the wooded area (rather than the parking lot). Their...Read More
VacationFamilyLocation: 5Clean and comfortable bed. Very fluffy towels. Mini frig and keurig coffee machine. Tower fan to help with those hotter days. Rustic table and chairs - matches the park aesthetic. TV which made kids happy - not all NP lodgings have TVs.15 min drive to panoramic point - great for sunrise and sunset. Grants grove is 10 min away - a must! 45 min drive to the Cedar Grove side with Grizzly and Rapid Falls. Boyden cavern - very fun creek walk at the end of the tour!No elevator. Plenty of standard safety instruments- fire extinguishers. Hand rails in all stairs.Walkable to local market, usps postal office, visitor center and restaurant.Coffee in the lobby in the morning. Small lodge shop with snacks and oatmeal cups. Bottle fill station was convenient and great for filling our camelbaksGreat night sky view. Hard to tell if we could see the milky way but so many starts!!! Definitely a convenient and great dark sky spot. Each floor has porch with rocking chairs - great place to relax. Parking lot can fill up and one night we had to park to the side of marked spots - was fine and we made sure not to block anything/oneQuiet, Kid-friendly

Very clean place to stay, friendly and helpful staff. The lobby was very nice they had board games and books to read. The lobby had a coffee pot and microwave to cook things. I thought the rooms were a little pricey.

We spent three nights here while exploring Kings Canyon and it was an excellent choice. The staff are all very friendly and the lodge itself is great. We really appreciated the free tea and coffee as well as the ability to buy snacks, fresh cookies,...Read More

We were pleased with the room we had for our one-night stay. Very friendly and efficient staff at all points of contact. Clean, nicely appointed room with great beds. No AC but a tower fan did the trick nicely. Would happily...Read More

Disappointing Stay at John Muir Lodge I rarely leave reviews, but our experience at John Muir Lodge was poor enough that I felt compelled to share. The room was dirty and the carpet was visibly filthy and looked like it hadn’t been deep-cleaned in ages. The...Read More

We absolutely loved this place. The location is fabulous for King’s Canyon. Our room for three adults was super clean and way better than reviews suggest. It’s quite clear when you book that there is no air con. We stayed mid-July, it was …

The facilities are excellent. Staff are friendly and efficient. The restaurant is sub-par for what you are paying for the rooms. There are NO dinner entrees; only lunch is available. So sandwiches, salads, and pizza. They have you order at …

I had my doubts about lodging in Kings Canyon Sequoia National Park… the people on the reservation lines were not super helpful. But once you get into the park, the communication really improves. They text us the day before to let us know …

This is a Motel 6 quality experience that we paid $275 a night for. You are paying for location (the only choice in or near the park) but for the price I would expect nicer. The beds were rock hard, there's a sign about...Read More

Loved the lodge!! The folks were super nice. The shower wasn’t great (the shower trickled out which made it tough to rinse off) but they did have a water challenge which I thought was a great idea-but with the trickle-made it impossible to...Read More

This place is truly fantastic and unique. My first impression was a bit sceptical, as the rooms are quite small and furnished in a fairly standard way. However, I soon realised that we are in the heart of Kings Canyon, where you wouldn’t …

We stayed here for two nights, and it is not that big as it is two levels and 36 rooms in total and was built back in 1998. The lobby area is nice as there are multiple tables to sit at and relax at,...Read More

Staff was friendly. However, the price is not justified and their rooms are not accurately depicted. Their google amenities show AC in all rooms. Upon arrival we were told there is no AC in any of the rooms which is a problem during …

Tent cabins have cozy beds with posh linens but no electricity or heat so pack for camping. No decaf coffee and super loud at night on the weekend. Shops and restaurants are good and reasonably priced.

Rooms were good except for mattress that needs replacement. They challenge you to a 5 minute shower no problem water is set so it's barely warm. Quiet room. Great Wifi compared to Yosemite.

Dont go there………The hotel is typical for a hotel in a national park. No competition, so no pressure. The hotel is run down, old, poorly maintained. The staff is unmotivated. My bed was broken, one foot was broken, they just put a book …

The hotel is not well maintained. Parking was limited and the front desk clerk was rude to me. This is not the original hotel, but a cheaply rebuilt version that doesn’t have the same charm as the original lodges. The park itself is beautiful and...Read More
