A mechanic friend heard noise in right front wheel, recommending that the ball bearings be checked. I took my Trax (13,000 on odometer) to the dealership. The bearings in the right front wheel were not checked. The vehicle was not test-driven. Instead, I was advised by the service dept. that I needed four new tires and a front-end alignment, at a cost of $1,046! Refusing to buy four new tires through the dealership, I picked up my vehicle. I had my tires inspected and approved by an independent repair shop. If I had needed four new tires, this dealership would not have passed State Inspection on my Trax in July 2024, and would have recommended tire replacement at that time. I feel that the dealership's service department took advantage of the fact that I'm a woman, and that instead of investigating other possible causes (ball bearings) of the noise in the front right wheel, recommended replacing all four tires and doing a front-end alignment, which are not covered by warranty. I am now questioning the integrity of this dealership's service department.
