I made an online order that according to the store manager they never received the order request. However, when I spoke with the Online Customer Service they showed that the Shakopee store did receive the order request and are filling it. A half hour later I received a notification that my order is the ready for me to pick up. Yes, the order the store manager said they didn't have in their system. When I went to pick up the order the store manager miraculously found my order she claimed they didn't have. They also claimed they couldn't find 2 items in my order. It took me 2 minutes to find the items they supposedly couldn't find. I also showed the store manager that Singer sewing needles were on sale on the Joann's website, she refused to price match. For years Joann's always priced matched the sale price online, when did this change??? Great way of losing customers at a time when they need customers. At least the store manager was willing to honor the price of the two items they couldn't find. I also noticed an employee cutting fabric at a snail's place. It was ridiculous. She was cutting like she was performing surgery on the fabric. There are metal grids made to make sure they cut straight and FAST. The previous employees were always fast at cutting fabric. At the Edina location cut fabric fast all the time. It took this employee for ever to cut the fabric. What was even more ridiculous, she didn't even know where the buttons were to call on the next number. In her words "I just don't bother with it because I figure customers know who is next." What???!!! Really??? Poor management of the store, lack of knowledge, completely oblivious of basic fundamentals on service. I now noticed I have been charged for extra items I never purchased. Now I need to have Customer Service refund the over charge. Yet another thing I need to do with Joann's. UGH!
No surprise the company is filing bankruptcy for a second time. They need to hire better people in corporate and properly train employees at the store, including the store manager. My experience was terrible. I am giving 2 stars because the store manager honored the sale price for the 2 items they couldn't find, otherwise I would give only 1 star.
