I’m a frequent shopper at this JEWEL location as it is minutes from my house. Usually I have a nice experience there, however today it was not. I was met at the deli with a rude associate named Sylvia. She slyly slid in while I was in line waiting for the butcher, and began listing off meats to him that she needed. As she was placing her lengthy order, I asked her, was she done and she very rudely cut me off and said no. She not only cut me in line, but had a nasty attitude also. One minute of cutting deli meat wouldn’t have interrupted her shopping job. Since when do employees and Jewel orders take priority over in store customers??? No hospitality whatsoever.
I told the manager on duty at the time and he seemed to disregard her behavior, instead of apologizing on her behalf. He even went as far as pointing out that she was on a timer for her job in comparison to my Shop& pay order. Ultimately the point wasn’t about being timed, it was extending courtesy to a disabled JEWEL customer.
A big shout out to the tall guy Jon in the deli section that came from the bakery section to slice the 1LB of meat that I needed. He went above and beyond earlier to help me find some cheese in that section as well. He intervened to service me, and I am grateful for him as I am disabled and cannot stand for long periods of time. JEWEL DO BETTER with your employees as well as lack luster managers.
