Hate to give a 2 star review but I thought i would share this experience. 2 years ago i brought two electric bikes to Inky's. They maintenance them perfectly fine. Lubed chain or replaced chain, checked tires, adjusted brakes etc. No work on electrical components. Today (8/2/2023), I brought them the same bicycles and they said they dont work on electric bikes. But i only have mechanical issues on the bikes. It was like pulling teeth as they reluctantly said, okay, we can prob replace the tire (see photo) and check chain. The attitude I received from them was not a good look. I asked if they could help me get one small screw (see one photo) for an electric scooter handlebar, not anything to do the electrical components of the scooter. Without even looking at it they were very dismissive and not helpful. I guess business is so good for Inky's that they don't need the hundreds of dollars i was willing to pay them for simple bike maintenance. Only reason giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because they did maintenance on the electric bikes 2 years ago and it was fine.
UPDATE after Inky's reply: 1. Inky's was the first bike shop I went to, my first choice, I had not gone to any other shop yet. 2. I went directly to Chainlink Bikes (only 1.8 miles away, you can read a review i will leave for them after work completed), and the tech there was super friendly and very ammodating. He actually LOOKED at the scooter and said it was a super easy fix to install a pin/screw, whereas Ink's didn't even look at it, he just mentioned it looking like it is stripped AFTER I took a photo of it. Chainlink Bikes tech asked if a permanent pin would be okay. He actively thought to solve the customer problem and said it will be easier than changing a bike tube. On a side note: I have written 130 reviews on various businesses throughout San Diego and considered a local Google Guide. 95%+ of my reviews are 5 star so you can believe my reviews are honest. I'm not sure why the team at Inky's was so difficult. They just were not accommodating at all. They are honest, just not help am I'm very disappointed in them for that. I offered $100 if they could just find a screw or fix the scooter handlebar. That was too difficult or too much work for them. No worries, other shops would love to take my money.
