Well this is certainly my favorite store! I am soooooooooooooooooooo happy we finally got a HomeGoods in Goleta!!! Wahoo!! I love the products, the variety, and most of the time the people. I've run into one or two who were on their phones instead of working, but sadly you'll find that everywhere these days.
I really appreciate how hard-working the managers are. I don't know their names, but I see how hard they are working and wanted to mention it here. The cashiers are really friendly and always pack my fragile items well. They are never in too much of a hurry and that's a good thing.
I've been to other HomeGoods and they are in a hurry to "get it over with" and that's not what your customers want. I want your full attention while I'm about to give you my money. Don't look around. Don't look at your phone. Don't even look at the line. I was just there, and now I'm in front of you. Look at me, look at the item in your hand, and look at the way you're wrapping my fragile item.
There is not one thing you can do to make the people in the line disappear. If you hurry, you might scratch or chip the item in your hand. Then you'll have to deal with me: an angry customer who wants the manager because you damaged my product because you were preoccupied! The hurrier you go the behinder you get. Case in point: A cashier in another store broke a rare item because she was looking at something else while packing my item. I was NOT a happy camper! It was a Rae Dunn mug that had "HERO" on the front with a HEART as the mug topper. Very rare, very hard to find, never seen it in person before that day and I've never seen it since. Soooooooo not OK.
So, to be clear HomeGoods of Goleta, keep doing what you're doing! Keep those shelves stocked, keep those smiling faces at the front, keep asking people if they've found what they came for, and say thank you to the managers who are always working super hard to run that store!!
Well done peeps!
