Based on my recommendation as a designer, my client was building their first new high-end luxury home; they made several purchases from Matthew, including all the plumbing fixtures, appliances, and cabinetry. My clients were always paying on time and in full payment. The clients paid the company 80% of the invoice in May 2021. After the clients had to wait 14 months for the delivery, they were upset and frustrated. The husband wanted to go with another company, and it took a lot of convincing from me to stay with Home 101. When they did deliver, the cabinetry needed to be assembled and completed. It took a lot of time out of my schedule to deal with constantly having to call them asking for updates on the cabinets; Matthew often wouldn't answer our calls. He was the one to convince us to change the manufacturer because of the delay, which still took a long time to deliver, and we still kept getting the runaround from him. When the cabinets started to be built in the home, I noticed they weren't up to the standards of Omega (the first supplier we initially went with). Before convincing us to change suppliers, he assured me they were as good as Omega. It was a disappointment to see that it wasn’t, especially since we had to wait 14 months for just the delivery of the cabinets; it took 19 MONTHS for the installation to be completed. We had problems with Doors that wouldn’t close because they were uneven, drawers wouldn't shut right, and it took months for them to correct. We still had four other rooms they were supposed to finish that were in the invoice; we had to find another company for those rooms, and it took months for them to come back. My clients were very nice and so patient. I was thankful because this was the most challenging part of the project.
Before all the craziness, I recommended my sister to them because she was remodeling her kitchen. She ordered the cabinets and sink with them. One of the cabinets was the wrong size, another cabinet door was in the opposite direction, and they ordered the wrong size sink. The day she picked up the sink, she saw it was smaller than the one she ordered. She couldn't return it because no other place had the size or color she wanted. She would have had to wait another three months, and her contractor was already putting the countertops on, so she is stuck with a smaller sink she never ordered. What a disaster it was. I felt terrible because I recommended her.
