Joseph Romeo deserves a special mention for his outstanding service despite the dealership being very busy. He ensured all our needs were met with a very personable approach. Even after our purchase was complete, he proactively offered to help us set up the infotainment system as my wife and I were discussing it on our way out even though there were more sales to make inside, which truly demonstrated great character.
We also greatly appreciate Rusty Sanders, the sales manager, and Dillon Young in finance for making our experience a pleasure.
My initial contact was with Rusty over the phone regarding a specific vehicle. He promptly provided a competitive price quote, including the Hyundai HMF incentive. Upon visiting the dealership, the car matched our expectations, and we proceeded to purchase it after a test drive. The entire process was transparent and straightforward, with no renegotiations, bait-and-switch tactics, disappearing vehicles, games, hidden fees or add-ons, or trade-in requirements. This was a refreshing change from my previous car buying experiences.
The finance office presented competitively priced extended warranty options (comparable to or even cheaper than third-party options), which we ultimately declined. The sales pitch was reasonable and not overly persistent. The finance process itself was quick, taking approximately 20-30 minutes.
This purchase exemplifies how buying a car should be and far surpasses the experiences I've had with other Hyundai dealerships in the area.
For context, my previous experiences with competitors have been significantly different.
At AutoNation, my first Hyundai purchase took over 12 hours, despite them not being busy and agreeing to their advertised price. The finance office experience was particularly frustrating, lasting over two hours with repeated arguments to decline gap insurance on a car where I was financing only 50% of the purchase price.
More recently, I encountered several issues:
One dealer NOT HILEY confirmed a car was in stock and negotiated a price had me file a finance app, only to later admit they didn't have the vehicle.
Alliance NOT HILEY refused to give quotes over the phone, offered prices $2-3k above MSRP, and used manipulative tactics with our trade-in car keys. They claimed a warranty was pre-installed, failed to disclose incentives, and used deceptive practices with the price sheet, making it difficult to calculate the final cost. Dealing with them was exhausting.
Several other dealerships attempted to waste my time by trying to lure me in for cars they didn't actually have in stock. They couldn't provide photos as proof.
