I had my first hearing test by an audiologist in October 2011. She encouraged me to consider hearing aids but I procrastinated. Almost 3 years later I had another audiology test in June of 2014. A month later I went to Costco and they tested me again and sold me a pair of Resound hearing aids for $1800 with a 90-day free trial period. I returned them a month later for a refund. They were totally unsatisfactory. Fast forward to April 2017and I had another hearing test by an audiologist and my results showed a further diminishment in my hearing. Six months later in September 2017 I went to New Sound Hearing Center in Georgetown and they tested me a quote me pairs hearing aids in the price range of $3,000 to $5,000. I wasn't prepared to pay that much even with a free trial period. Finally in late January 2018 I went to see James Cearnal at Georgetown Hearing Aid Center and after looking at my four previous audiology tests, he recommended a pair of Sieman's Cellion hearing aids for around $2,000. I purchased them on a 30-free trail period and after several follow-up visits and adjustments decided to return them for a refund, which Jim processed without any hassle. However he suggested I try another hearing aid by Hansaton and fitted me with just one hearing aid for a trial period. If they work out he offered me to order a pair of these hearing aids for around $2,000. I'm still in the trial period but so far so good. I like the one hearing aid I'm testing better than any of the previous hearing aids I tried. And communication with Jim is very easy, he listens and answers my questions. If I end up purchasing a pair of these hearing aids Jim will service these hearing aids and make hearing adjustments as necessary. A bonus is that his office is about a mile from my home and I can drive to his office through traffic in under 5 minutes. I like the fact that he runs an independent Hearing Aid Center and is not part of a regional or national hearing aid chain of retailers. And he puts everything in writing and signs it. Accordingly I'm happy to write this review and give him a five star rating. P.S. He doesn't know I'm doing this and will only find out if he checks his reviews.
