To Thomas, Joe, and JJ – I want to thank you all so very much for going above and beyond for my family and me. The 3 of you are amazing at what you do, and the amount of empathy and compassion that you have for your customers, radiates from within! I will forever be a Gates costumer, and for anyone looking to begin the journey of purchasing a vehicle, start with Gates of Elkhart – you will not be disappointed!
I’m certain that most people can agree with the fact that purchasing a new vehicle is kind of a BIG DEAL! As with most individuals, I did my research on local dealerships in the area, as I wanted to work with a dealership who others perceived as honest, professional, and trustworthy. Throughout my search, I came across Gates of Elkhart.
Pulling into the dealership, I was warmly welcomed by Thomas. We began conversing about the type of vehicle I was searching for, and lucky for me – It was in stock! The anticipation of having the much-dreaded discussion of financing and budget was next, however, Thomas’s gentle, and understanding approach, quickly minimized all my anxieties! We test drove the car, took it over to my mechanic, and despite having gone on the test drive with Thomas for nearly an hour, there was never a moment when I felt pressured or rushed to make it back to the Gates dealership.
To say that it was “love at first sight” with the car, would be an understatement! However, given that this car was considered a “trade in” vehicle, as you can expect, it was not in pristine condition. Without going too much in depth, there was a significant flaw on this vehicle, that was an absolute deal breaker. I expressed my concerns to Thomas, and after some negotiation, Gates agreed to have the damage repaired!
We returned to the dealership, and I was transferred over to JJ, to discuss the financing and warranty aspect of things – which again, as most would agree, is the absolute WORST part of a car buying journey! JJ was very patient and understanding. He took his time to answer all my questions and thoroughly explained all options available to me. I wasn’t fond of the numbers originally presented to me, so I asked that we call it a night so that I had time to “sleep on” the information. Without hesitation, JJ said yes, and he agreed to be in touch the following day.
That next morning, I received a message from JJ stating that he took the time to personally contact some of the lenders himself, and to my surprise, he was able to find a budget that worked PERFECTLY for my family! I went back to the dealership to sign the final paperwork, however, I was still reluctant and hesitant, as I was signing for a vehicle that still needed some body work.
To ease my concerns, I was introduced to Joe, the sales manager of Gates. He promised and guaranteed that the final work would be in tip-top shape, and gave his word that I would receive regular updates along the way.
Not a day went by without communication from either Tom, Joe, or JJ, in the 6 days that I waited for the vehicle to be repaired. I received photos & updates along the way, and right before the car was transported to the body shop, Joe checked in to make sure that the final work of the vehicle’s details was up to my standard.
I picked up my car yesterday evening, and was greeted with smiles, laughter and cheer! I am so thankful to have chosen Gates of Elkhart to work with me throughout my car buying experience and promise to return for the next vehicle I purchase!
