I just picked up a 9’6" Classic Noserider log from Gordon & Smith yesterday, and I can honestly say it’s the best longboard I’ve ever surfed. This board is an absolute gem. It glides and paddles effortlessly, feels incredibly stable for cross-stepping, and has that magic feeling that makes every wave more fun. It's the kind of board that makes you fall in love with logging all over again.
The team at G&S is just as special as the boards they shape. Debbie and the crew are incredibly kind, humble, and genuinely passionate about what they do. They took the time to answer all my questions, and I even got lucky enough to meet Chris Darby, the head shaper behind my board. Chris has shaped thousands of these beauties over the years, and yet he’s one of the most down-to-earth, friendly people you’ll ever meet. It’s clear the entire shop is driven by love for the craft and the community.
What really sets G&S apart is not just the quality of their boards, but the heart behind the brand. They even let you demo boards, which shows how confident they are in their shapes and how much they care about getting the right board under your feet. I’ve already got my eye on the Katwalk as a second log—my boyfriend and I are definitely going to be fighting over the Noserider all summer!
We’ll absolutely keep buying boards from G&S. It’s rare to find a brand that delivers such an amazing product while staying so grounded and welcoming. Can’t recommend them enough.
