My daughter and I really enjoyed our visit to Fruitlands Museum! We learned so much about the history of the area, from the Native American and Shaker communities to the fascinating story of the Alcott family and their transcendentalist experiment. The exhibits were engaging, educational,...Read More

I wish it had a different name and minus the rainbow flag. This is Christian history. Despite some eventual disception believing the leader was Christ, Shaker history is full of Holy Spirit-led shaking and dance. This is a great example of how God does...Read More

We had such a good time here today. The weather was perfect for walking the grounds, the staff were all friendly. We paid the extra $5 for the tour of the Shaker Museum and the Fruitlands Farmhouse, and it was totally worth it. Our guide...Read More

Great place to get some history and hiking in. Take a look at the childhood home of Louisa May Alcott and learn a little bit about the utopian movement of the 1840's at the same time. There are also sculpture and hiking trails. The views...Read More

Visited during the Craft Fair. The fair itself was two long tents with well curated booths. A standout was a weaver of baskets from Nantucket, expert work and so appropriate with the Shaker venue. The museum is really several buildings that have been brought to the...Read More

We photographed out first wedding here and it was perfect! Fuitlands has the most beautiful rolling views with Wachusett mountain in the distance. The colors were beginning to pop, and they had beautiful greens for what felt like miles and miles. As we headed into...Read More

Gorgeous vistas, rustic environ without any crowds. That's a rare combination unless you hike up a hard mountain. But that's what Fruitlands provides. The tours here give a nice historical view into how things were over a century ago when this place was considered radical.

What a great time. The people in each building were so knowledgeable and encouraging of our kids. They knew all the details down to the plants around the building.
