I purchased a used vehicle from Finnin in mid September 2024. The sales staff were phenomenal in their help and their knowledge, and their ability to accomodate my schedule. However, about 4 weeks after I purchased the vehicle, the check engine light came on along with other warning messages that indicated the fuel pump needed to be replaced. This was especially surprising to me since a fuel pump sensor was replaced prior to any warnings for the fuel pump. I'm not a mechanic, but it would make sense to me that the fuel pump sensor could indicate issues with the fuel pump. When I mentioned this to the dealership, they scheduled me a visit, and said that they needed their service department to diagnose the problem, and that it was likely covered under their BG warranty (6 month/6000 miles). Then, even though I live nearly two hours away, waited until I got there to tell me that if the part is not covered, I would need to pay $156 just to have their service team look at it. I was not happy about that, especially since I had to take the day off work to bring my car to them. Then was told that my vehicle has two fuel pumps. Conveniently, it was the high pressure fuel pump (the one that is now working properly) that is not covered under the warranty. When I expressed my disappointment in this, and they could not explain any better than that's just the warranty company's decision, I told them just how unhappy I was to have a car for 2 months, and already have to make a major repair. Their solution was to split the cost of the repair with me. That sounds great! Until they told me the total was nearly $1500 for parts and labor. Which is about $1000 more than my regular mechanic quoted me to replace the same part. So... my review is that their sales department is fantastic, however I hope your car doesn't have any issues once you drive off the lot.... it's likely you too will get the run around.
